PExprt is used for design, modeling, and analysis of transformers and inductors. Using a combination of classical and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques, PExprt determines the core size and shape, air gaps, and winding strategy for a given power converter topology. Users can then evaluate the magnetic design in Maxwell® to view such things as flux density in the core and current density distribution in the windings. An equivalent model can then be automatically created to evaluate the magnetic design in the actual circuit using Simplorer®. All this helps to achieve optimum reliability and performance of the magnetic component and eliminates multiple prototyping iterations.
What's new in PExprt 7.0?
PExprt 7.0 is now compatible with Simplorer® 8.x and Maxwell® 13.0
New libraries include Metglas®, electrical steel, and laminated core designs
